Creating a custom hyperlinked planner directly in Noteful is straightforward using its built-in link engine and multi-layer tools. Here is a complete step-by-step tutorial to build, link, and export your own interactive PDF planner.
Step 1: Set Up Your Document Base
Open Noteful and tap the + (New) button on the main dashboard.
Select New Notebook.
Choose your preferred paper background (e.g., Grid, Dotted, or Standard Paper) and page orientation (Landscape works best for dual-page planners).
Name your notebook (e.g., "My 2026 Planner") and tap Create.
Step 2: Design Page Template & Navigation Tabs
To make navigation intuitive, build a master navigation bar (tabs) that will appear across your pages.
Use Layers: Tap the Layers panel (top toolbar) and create a layer named "Navigation Base". Keeping tabs on their own layer prevents them from shifting when you erase notes later.
Draw Navigation Tabs: Use the Shape Tool (rectangle icon) or the Text Tool to draw tab buttons along the side or top of your page (e.g., Jan, Feb, Index, Goals).
Duplicate Pages: Once your base layout and tabs are drawn, open the Page Overview menu (grid icon top-left), select your template page, and tap Duplicate to generate all required pages for your planner.

Now, connect your navigation tabs to their corresponding pages.

Once your planner layout and hyperlinks are complete, you can save it as a standalone PDF file to share or re-import:
Tap the Share/Export icon (top right corner).
Select Export as PDF.
In the export settings menu, ensure Include Annotations and Include Hyperlinks are turned ON.
Tap Export and save the file to your iPad's Files app or Cloud drive.
